The Wonder Bus is an innovative mobile children’s museum currently in the planning and development phase, with a vision to bring hands-on, play-based learning experiences directly to children and families in our community. Once launched, The Wonder Bus will be a fully renovated bus filled with interactive exhibits designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving through sensory play, dramatic play, and STEAM exploration — all without screens.
Our future goal is to create a one-of-a-kind space where children can learn through play in an environment that is engaging, developmentally appropriate, and thoughtfully designed to support regulation, imagination, and discovery. Planned exhibit areas include immersive dramatic play environments, open-ended makerspace materials for tinkering and building, and sensory exploration stations that invite children to explore using all their senses.
When The Wonder Bus launches, we plan to travel directly to schools, childcare programs, neighborhoods, and community spaces, offering experiences such as mobile field trips, birthday celebrations, community events, and pop-up play opportunities. Our vision is to make high-quality, play-based learning accessible, convenient, and memorable for families and educators.
Right now, The Wonder Bus is in the exciting planning and building stage. Community support, partnerships, and early interest help move this vision closer to reality and help shape what this future mobile museum will become.
